I expressed "the Battle of Yavin" like ancient Egyptian art.
What kind of battle was it that happened "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away"?
Later historians recorded it as a historical art.
And we, who live in distant places in the distant future, looking at the art.

It's not just imitating Egyptian design.
Each of the motifs contained in this art has its own meaning
and is in line with the design rules of ancient Egyptian art to some extent.

I think you can easily understand the flow of the story as Star Wars.
Yes, the story goes from bottom to top.
It may not be necessary to write it, the motifs are drawn in order according to the story.
That is, the data disk of the Death Star plan, the flame of "Battle of Scarif", the starfighters of the rebel alliance, the surface of Death Star, the flame of "Battle of Yavin", the thermal exhaust port on the Death Star, and the Medal of Bravery.
I decided not to draw all of these designs like ancient Egyptian art, but to incorporate only the rules of design and their implications. So the design of the starfighters and surface of the Death Star are based on the plastic models, movies, and photos.
Since it is set as "painted by a person in an era after the Battle of Yavin", it is an artwork of a historian who live in an advanced civilization where hyperdrive and interstellar travel are commonplace.
However, the historian's sense of art was close to that of the ancient Egyptians who lived on the planet Earth 3000 years ago.... I thought about such a story and crate this work!

Ancient Egyptian art has a rule that "important things" such as high-ranking figures and gods are drawn larger. There was no laws of perspective.
The largest X-wing Starfighter in the center is Luke Skywalker's Red5, and the left and right are Red2 and Red3 who survived this battle.
If you look at the pattern on the wings, you can see the number assigned to the fighter.
However, I don't know the rules of the pattern after the No.7...

The vertical Aurebesh text section gives a brief description of this battle.
In Egyptian art, sentences by hieroglyphs are attached to the paintings to explain each scene. Although there is no frame division, its composition is similar to modern comic.
Aurebesh is in English, so i think some of you may be able to read it!
The full English text is below.
Left half :
The battle of yavin was a major battle of the galactic civil war
that led to the destruction of the first death star.

Right half :
and luke skywalker's first step to becoming a fully-fledged jedi.
It was one of the rebellion's first major victories.

Egyptian hieroglyphs can be written vertically or horizontally like Japanese. And can also be written from the left or right.
It was important that the mural paintings that decorate Pharaoh's tombs look beautiful as art, so it was often drawn symmetrically.
In this art, the text is divided in half in the center, both of which are read from the center to the edges. That is, you can read the left half from the right and the right half from the left.
In the case of Egyptian hieroglyphs, the reading direction of each block of text depends on the direction of the animal or human hieroglyphs.
If they are facing right, you can read the text from the right.

In this art, it can be judged by the direction of the X-wing, which is drawn small between the sentences.
You can read in the same direction as the vehicle's direction.
